After the cranberry bog tour experience, you’ll return to the barn for a demonstration of antique harvest equipment, and each guest will receive fresh cranberries to take home. Please let us know in advance if anyone in your group has allergies or accessibility needs.
Due to water levels and safety our minimum height to enter the bog is 4’5″. Children 12 and older are welcome with adult supervision and a signed waiver from a parent or guardian.

People often ask us about bog spiders, specifically the wolf spiders. The viral social media claims of being swamped by spiders during harvest are a myth. While the cranberry bogs naturally have important helpful creatures including spiders and insects, they are generally small and will not bother you. While in the cranberry bogs the waders help provide additional barriers. We find most people that come to our cranberry bog harvest events say they were surprised how little they were bothered. You might find this article helpful on the subject.
Our harvest events and experiences are scheduled in small groups with a prior reservation. We ask additional people to wait on the patio or shop at the store but only visitors with tickets can come on the actual tour/activity.
Cranberry bog roads and hard packed sand and dirt. We suggest supportive footwear such as sneakers or boots. Please consider the weather that day as well as the road and surrounding areas can get muddy.
Our events and tickets often include a snack and drink. We also have additional food and drink for sale at events. If you need to bring food/cooler for specific diet needs we ask that you pick up your own trash and take it with you when you leave.

We will provide waders or hip boots but recommend bringing a change of clothes in the rare chance you do get any water in your waders. We also recommend knee high socks for waders as you take off your shoes when you use waders. We do have socks available for purchase in the event you forget some or want a special Benson’s Pond pair to remember your cranberry bogging experience.
Our bog roads are hard packed dirt and wheelchairs can get around relatively easily. We have a golf cart to assist people around if needed.. We also have an ADA portable restroom. The barn, store and separator areas are handicap accessible.
The bog water is fresh water from our water reservoir or local waterway and will be cool. Please look up the weather for Middleboro, MA before your visit and dress accordingly. Layers are always a good idea. Our tours and events are rain or shine. The waders can help to keep you warmer and dry.
Our in the bog experiences are great photo ops. Your waders do have an internal pocket you can store your phone as you make your way into the bog.
